Out With The Old In With The New

Well I guess this is what we get for complaining that it is starting to get hot. Dad went and bought a new swamp cooler to replace the one that already was on the house because it was getting old and worn out. It wasn't the chore that I thought it was going to be, we had quite the little system, we turned the scaffolding into a ladder and lifted it from one level to the next until we got to the top. We had Mason climbing up and down bringing us things that we had forgotten down below, I think he liked climbing the scaffolding. Now after a hard day of working on miscellaneous projects Mom and Dad can go and relax in a nice cool house.

Happy Camping

Hello all, I'm a little behind once again. I just thought that I would post a couple of pictures of Mom and Dad on their first camping trip with their new trailer. Alawna and her kids went with them and Sydney and Ian also, Lynn was out playing in the API golf tournament with Kary and Mclayne. Lynn and I rode to have dinner with them and then came back. I'm sure glad that Mom and Dad got this trailer, it will be nice for them to be able to pull it up the canyon and relax a little.

Broken Suprise

Hello y'all, I thought I would Let you know how nice some people are here in good old Roosevelt. Mom, Tracie and I went to Vernal one night last week because I had a couple of softball games. The trip to Vernal was good, made our usual stop at Wal-mart and then to the games, all was going good, spirits were high because we were victorious and nothing could be any better. When we returned home at about 11:00 pm we found that someone thought they would help us wash one of the windows in Tracie's little white car, but little did they know that a big chunk of asphalt doesn't do a very good job. By now I bet you have guess what I'm getting around to, yup, some little sweetheart took a piece of asphalt and hucked it through the passenger side window shattering the window to millions of little pieces, this is after 6 months ago getting the back window of our truck getting shot out by a BB gun. Our New Bathroom

Boy Tracie has some good ideas once in awhile but when she mentioned remodeling the bathroom I got a little worried knowing the history of our remodel projects. This job once again was a bigger job than anticipated. Tracie thought, heck this will take us a couple of hours, we will slap some paint on the wall, take the carpet out and put down some laminate flooring and bam a new bathroom. She thought wrong, this turned into a Christmas Break project. When we started to paint the walls once again the existing paint started peeling so out came the razor blades to start scraping. We had to recruit dad to come and work his magic with the sheetrock mud, I'm glad he knows what he is doing because I would probably still be trying to perfect it. In the middle of it all we decided to pull out the vanity and paint it black, that made a big difference in the finished product. The floor was probably the easiest thing to put in during the whole task. It was a lot of work but well worth all the time and effort.

DAD

What a month January was, boy did it start out with a bang. This is a New Years day that we will all remember not because of the resolutions that we made but the fear that we felt. When I got the call that dad was having a heart attack my thoughts turned to all the bad things that happen, the worst one being, what if I don’t get to see him again? I was scared to death. I may not show my emotions much but I love my dad with all of my heart, he is one of the best friends (Dad) that someone could have. He has taught me many lessons in life, not only by teaching hands on but also by his great example. As we spent time with him in the hospital in Provo it was amazing to me to learn how many lives Dad has touched as the phone rang of the hook. As I sat and watched President Hinkley’s funeral Saturday and listened to his daughter talk, I thought to myself that although it would be awesome to have the Prophet as a dad, I realized that my dad is as special to me as President Hinkley was to his children. It has been great to be able to help him out while he has had to take it easy, paying him back for all that he has done for me when I haven’t been able to do it myself (Remodeling after Tracie and I got in a mess, etc.) Dad I just wanted to say THANKS, Thanks for everything, Thanks for being my Dad and Thanks for being my Friend. Dad, I hope that you know that I love you and that you mean the world to me. I'm grateful that all is well.
- Your son, Ryan

P.S. Mom, not to leave you out, I love you too, Thank you for the strength that you bring to our family. We couldn’t of asked for a better mom. My family is the best, I love everyone of you so very much.

I'm A Little Behind

Well once again it has been awhile since I have taken some time to fill y'all in on what has been going on in the life of Ryan and Tracie. We went to Mississippi for Thanksgiving this year, it was a good visit. Kelli got married on the 15th of November so we were able to attend the wedding, it was a good ceremony. Thanksgiving was good, they really go all out with the food, we had enough food to feed an army. The day after Thanksgiving Jason and I went to Starkville Mississippi to watch the Mississippi State - Ole Miss football game, Jason had a Special Assignment there, he is on Honor Guard and they posted the Colors at the start of the game so he was able to get me a ticket, that was fun. Since it is so close to Christmas I will keep this one short and do this again after the big day. I hope Y'all have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
