DAD

What a month January was, boy did it start out with a bang. This is a New Years day that we will all remember not because of the resolutions that we made but the fear that we felt. When I got the call that dad was having a heart attack my thoughts turned to all the bad things that happen, the worst one being, what if I don’t get to see him again? I was scared to death. I may not show my emotions much but I love my dad with all of my heart, he is one of the best friends (Dad) that someone could have. He has taught me many lessons in life, not only by teaching hands on but also by his great example. As we spent time with him in the hospital in Provo it was amazing to me to learn how many lives Dad has touched as the phone rang of the hook. As I sat and watched President Hinkley’s funeral Saturday and listened to his daughter talk, I thought to myself that although it would be awesome to have the Prophet as a dad, I realized that my dad is as special to me as President Hinkley was to his children. It has been great to be able to help him out while he has had to take it easy, paying him back for all that he has done for me when I haven’t been able to do it myself (Remodeling after Tracie and I got in a mess, etc.) Dad I just wanted to say THANKS, Thanks for everything, Thanks for being my Dad and Thanks for being my Friend. Dad, I hope that you know that I love you and that you mean the world to me. I'm grateful that all is well.
- Your son, Ryan

P.S. Mom, not to leave you out, I love you too, Thank you for the strength that you bring to our family. We couldn’t of asked for a better mom. My family is the best, I love everyone of you so very much.
